Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
eXpert FPGA DSP Feature for CompuScope PCIe Digitizers

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an innovative medical diagnostic technique that is addressing an increasing number of applications.

The system allows for the rapid acquisition of the optical spectra of light reflected off of a remote sample. The optical source for the experiment is a high-speed pulsed laser that is capable of generating optical chirps, in which the optical frequency increases in a linear fashion throughout the duration of the laser pulse.

The eXpert OCT firmware adds digitizer support for variable rate k-clocking or inactive external clock by simultaneously digitizing the interferometer signal with the returned optical signal for use with OCT applications.

eXpert FPGA DSP Features

  • Allows Variable Rate K-Clocking or Inactive External Clock
    with Digitizer
  • Simultaneously Digitizes Interferometer Signal with
    Returned Optical Signal
  • Allows for Rejection of Rising Edges for Pulses Below
    Specified Amplitudes
  • Allows for Manual Clock Management for Pulses Occurring on Border Between K-Clock Activity & Inactivity by Returning Raw Data Sample Number
  • Transparent to GaGe's Standard CompuScope Digitizer Drivers for Windows/Linux, so that no Special Software is Required
  • Requires GaGe Software Development Kit (SDK) for C/C# that Provides Ready-Made Compiled Sample Programs
